Well we are here at a hotel that has the Internet so here are a few pictures so you all can see what we are doing down here. It has been a great trip so far. Our second day in Beunos Aires was spent touring the city. We went to one of the main shopping districts and calle Florida in the Puerto Madero area.
There we went to the Governors House and walked around it. It is where Evita gave her famous speech to the people. We also walked through a Catholic church where they keep the remains of the man they credit with obtaining their independence. (they also give him credit for the independence of Peru, Ecuador and Uruguay, but Uruguay gives credit to someone else.) We listened to their choir sing for a little bit and watched the changing of the guards but we couldn't take pictures in the church. Walking back through calle Florida there we quite a few street entertainers trying to make a buck off of tourist. There was a magic show, puppet show, tango dancers, and a couple who looked wind blown who would move and freeze every time you dropped money in their bucket.
That night we went to the Senor Tango show. It was a dinner show that Josh's representatives recommended. We sat at a large round table with people from Ecuador, New York and Spain. The show started with a representation of the people of Uruguay running off the Indians. A couple of men came out on horses(which I thought the boys would have loved) and Josh got a couple of pictures before they reminded us that pictures were not allowed. There were quite a few tango dances and then a guy came out and sang and sang, and sang (for over an hour, I don't think he stopped until he couldn't think of another tango to sing. We weren't sur
e he was going to stop.) It was interesting and at least we can say we saw a Tango show in Argentina the home of the Tango. We left before it was completely over we had been there for over 4 hours and had an early flight to Uruguay the next morning .
